How to Be More Fascinating

I found this gem a few nights ago while waiting for my dinner to finish cooking….an awesome little diddy with Marie Forleo (totally now addicted to MarieTV on YouTube!!!). It was just what I needed to hear – because I feel kind of boring lately in the same job for over a year – and I’ve been sober for almost 3 years – and I LOVE routine in true virgo fashion. I think this vid just makes it easy to do a few things better and really start to fascinate and intrigue people.  I’m in….are you?

Here’s a few takeaways if you don’t have time to actually watch the video (but you should!) ….my comments in parenthesis ()

  1. You already are fascinating! (duh, right?!)
  2. Know how the world sees you. (I’m smart, qwirky, funny, and fun [I think])
  3. Wear your fascination halo. (check)
  4. Provoke a strong emotional response. (I guess it’s OK to be a little cray sometimes)
  5. Build your business around your career and personality. (I’m doing this – are you?)
  6. The world is not changed by people who sort of care. (So start caring, people!!

Wellness Wednesdays

For the first edition of Wellness Wednesdays….DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.

ImageThis week, I’m dedicated to my schedule of doing my “wellness” activities. I’m a virgo, so planning and having a schedule is KEY for me. Sundays/Mondays – take a walk, Tuesdays – meditate at the Chopra Center for their 4:45 class, Wednesdays – spin class with the kick-your-ass-party-til-you-puke spin instructor, James @ LA Fitness – Thursdays – kundalini at Soul of Yoga.

Yep – my schedule is insane and very planned out – but I LOVE throwing little things into my routine like, making something I find on Pinterest, jamming out to the song of the summer [Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke] really loud in my car to and from work, and burning incense while straightening up my house.

I’m going to go into detail with all of these lovely things and more – so stay tuned!

Hello, Chopra Center

Wow – so I’m just coming home from the Chopra Center at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad. I attended a free (yes, I said free) meditation session there with the lovely leader, Racquel. I was pleasantly surprised with the grounds, it’s set in a bunch of hills, green everywhere, lots of venues, and free self parking. Insanity. This is the start of my love affair with the Chopra Center.

I know meditation is definitely a way to a healthy mind and body – so I’ve ventured back into my practice with at least 5 minutes in the morning. Today I decided I wanted to take it to the next level and do 30 after work.  I did it and it was a lot easier than I thought. I skipped the gym (and secretly didn’t want to go) and went to La Costa Resort instead.

So, my fellow San Diego people or visitors or meditation enthusiasts, I highly recommend the Chopra Center. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and inspiring. You just might make a friend or twoImage
