Let me start by simply saying, YESTERDAY WAS A GREAT DAY.
Woke up, had a warm cup of water with lemon, got ready, and off to work I went….well, right when I was pulling onto the freeway, I realized I left my phone charging in my bedroom and it was too late to turn around and rescue it. During the first few hours, it was pretty painful (even though I was sitting in front of a computer and next to a land line phone). I felt alone, I couldn’t have my daily text sesh with my mom or send my sister an awful pic of myself. I must admit, though, the worst part was driving to where I was meeting some co-workers for an adventure and didn’t remember how to get there without my Maps app. (oh yeah, I also have GPS in my car).
I found my way to Hillcrest and met with my gals and surrendered to not having a phone. Let me tell you, it was the most wonderful day. I felt so connected with my environment, the people in front of me, the food I was eating, and more. it was a blessing my iPhone took a vacation for the day. I never realized just how much I depended on my phone and how much exactly I was on it. It was a treat to really get to observe what was happening around me without checking in on FourSquare, watching Facebook, and seeing if anyone new liked my photos on instagram. All of that stuff is absolutely ridiculous and I’m embarrassed how much I engage in them.
I highly recommend a siesta for your electronic devices. It was a really cool experience. Here are some pics to show you the fun that was had!
I secretly like when this happens, too! You look beautiful, by the way 🙂
